Plaza de Mercado de Paloquemao
Is one of the biggest and famous food markets in Bogota. You can find him on Calle 19 # 25-02 Bogota. Anyone who has the time or can take the time should look at this market. It is from month to Saturday, in the time of 4:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. as well as Sundays and holidays from 5:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. open.
You can find everything you can imagine. Whether fresh fruit, vegetables or fresh baked goods or fresh meat and fish. If you speak Spanish it is an advantage because hardly anyone in the market speaks English. But you can communicate that way too, so do not worry too much.
If you go in the very early morning hours, you get the full drone and people and traders off. Which I personally prefer, because you can see how the market lives. For those who want a little quieter, you should go from lunchtime or early in the afternoon.
You should also try the local cuisine. Arepa, Empanada, Aijaco, Bandeja paisa, Changua or Lechona. If you like fruits, you should ask nicely and politely at some stalls, if you could taste some fruits and you give some peso as a thank you.
If you've seen it all, you should definitely check out the flower market in the lot on the grounds. If you want to see a variety of flowers, you should definitely go in the early morning hours, as most of the variety starts at 11a.m. already gone. But it's worth it.
The site is open from Monday to Saturday from
4:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Sundays and holidays from 5:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. open.
The market can be reached by bus, Transmilenio or by taxi.
